Safe for a million hours October 1st 2006 Staff at Bedfordshire-based Kier Plant are celebrating one million hours of accident-free working. The company, with operations that extend the length and breadth of the UK and overseas, hires out a plant and equipment from seven UK depots. Ian Gordon, managing director, says "This is a great achievement considering the nature of work that has gone on during the period. Our professional team are constantly on the move and perform such daily procedures as tower crane erections and dismantles, heavy and intricate lifting tasks and site accommodation installations to name but a few. "By remaining focused on continuous improvement in all aspects of health and safety, we will not allow complacency to stand in the way of raising our standards still further." |
