Film crew gets the health and safety lowdown June 1st 2008 Needing a safe pair of hands
to film a health and safety
video, London based global
mining company, Anglo
American, called upon
Surrey agency Flipside to
go underground at its Union
platinum mine in South
Africa.
The video documents the
safety success of Anglo's
'Zero Harm' campaign in an
environment where risk is
ever-present. The team at
Union mine has worked hard
to turn around attitudes to
safety, and the video was
made to show the world
how seriously big mining
corporations approach the
challenges of protecting
their workforce.
The team was led by
Flipside director Neil
Christie, an award-winning
film-maker, who took a crew
down the mine's Spud Shaft
to record the practical
approach to health and
safety at depth. |
