European report warns of emerging workplace psychological risks February 1st 2008 Changes in working
environments are leading to
higher stress levels and the
potential deterioration of
mental and physical health,
according to a report from
the European Agency for
Safety and Health at
Work.
The report identifies the
main psychosocial risks
related to new forms of
employment contracts as: job
insecurity, work
intensification, high
emotional demands, violence
at work and a poor work-life
balance.
The agency says workrelated
stress is one of the
biggest occupational safety
and health challenges faced
in Europe and predicts the
number of people suffering
from stress-related conditions
caused or made worse by
work is likely to increase. More articles from European Agency For Safety & Health At Work: |
