August 1st 2005 Passive hearing protectors from Peltor include a manual listening function.
At the press of a button on the shell, the wearer reduces attenuation and can listen to speech.
The protectors retain some attenuation even when allowing sound through and it is simply a case of pressing the button again to restore full protection.
Should the user forget to switch hearing protection back on, the unit does so automatically after 30 seconds.
