Banking on plastic August 1st 2005 Battlefield waste management site in Shrewsbury has improved the safety of its workforce by switching from metal recycling containers to plastic banks that are easier to move.
The plastic Citybulle banks from Plastic Omnium also represent a cost saving for the company as it no longer requires lorries to move the banks around.
The drive-through site, owned by Shropshire County Council and managed by Sita, allows local residents to recycle and dispose of their waste in a covered environment.
Ian Collins, MD of Plastic Omnium, comments “As well as being safer for employees to move, plastic is more aesthetically pleasing and the containers can be branded or identified by different colours which helps with coding for waste separation. |
