Spillage kits for construction sites
April 1st 2007

Hewden is to deploy bespoke oil spillage kits for its plant and equipment at construction sites throughout the UK.

The company has already supplied a large number of kits to Balfour Beatty Power Networks, and expects to invest in more to roll out across the entire Balfour Beatty group as well as to other customers.

All Hewden's plant and tool equipment on hire with Balfour Beatty Power Networks has been fitted with the kits which are designed to mop up and contain any spilled oil from the machines.

A typical kit contains 10 absorbent pads and two long cylindrical socks, both of which are made from highly absorbent hydrophobic material. The sock is used to contain the oil spill, while the pad is used to soak up the oil safely.
