Removes/immobilises oil or solvent layer

Available from Industrial Apparatus Consultants, Imbiber Beads Blankets are designed to remove and immobilise an oil or solvent layer which will not leach or wash out when the blanket is removed.

Blankets are fitted with eyelets to allow them to be tied together to cover large areas and they can be anchored in position to prevent them from drifting in a current.

The blankets will float on the surface in bunds or open water and will remain on the surface in windy conditions, whether fresh or fully saturated. The company says that they do not become waterlogged or blow away.

The large capacity of the Imbiber Beads allows them to remain in place for a long time before they require changing, reducing labour costs and producing less solid waste.

They are said to provide a cost effective solution for immobilising hydrocarbons in sumps, bunds and drip trays and are already widely used by a number of large civil engineering companies.
