An emergency wall/bulkhead luminaire, has been introduced by Chalmit Lighting. Engineered for use in oil and gas extraction in extreme environments, the NexLED is suitable for applications in marine, logistics, rail, airport and other demanding industrial environments.

Providing instantaneous bright, white light, the compact, low energy units are not adversely affected by extreme low temperatures.

This ensures a dependable long life with low maintenance. Low power consumption is said to minimise the drain on UPS resources and gives extended battery operation.

The luminaires have a corrosion-resistant, marine grade aluminium enclosure, toughened glass cover, silicone rubber gaskets and stainless steel fittings.

Units are designed in accordance with ATEX Category 2 and suitable for Zone 1 and 21 areas.

Two models are offered: 1W x two lamps and 1W x eight lamps. Both can be fitted with battery packs for emergency lighting, giving 3h and 90min illumination respectively.

A directional decal kit can be fitted to signpost the way to the emergency exit.
