Hygienic shelving
June 1st 2005

Stormor shelving from Link 51 comes with anti-microbial BioCote protection to reduce the risk of crosscontamination in the workplace.

The protection is applied during painting. Nonleaching, it uses silver, an effective anti-microbial agent, and the coating is said to remain active for the life of the product.

BioCote interrupts the cells’ ability to function by inhibiting reproduction of bacteria and fungi.

Analysis over an 18h period showed a 99.9% reduction in listeria monocytogenes and a 99.8% reduction in staphylococcus aureus (MRSA strain).

Escherichia coli 0157 showed a 99.6% reduction.

The shelving centres on a versatile design that, through a simple preformed slot and clip mechanism, can be tailored to meet virtually any installation.

Customers can specify options such as pull-out drawers, work platforms lockable doors, specialist garment hanging facilities and document dividers. The system is said to create up to 7% additional storage space due to its use of strong, thin sections.
