Relief in the laundry April 1st 2008 The problems of motionless,
humid air and high
temperatures in Bates
Laundry in Leyton, East
London have been resolved
following the installation of
a Breezair Evaporative Air
Cooling System from Seeley
International (Europe).
Specified and installed by
CoSaf Environments,
unpleasantly high
temperatures of 38°C in
parts of the laundry have
been reduced by between 10
and 15°C.
CoSaf Environments
carried out a site survey and
calculated that seven
Breezair coolers would be
needed to provide
evaporative cooling to the
main laundry and ironing
area, a further two coolers
would be needed for the
towel area and a single
cooler for the press room.
Mounted on the roof, air
is distributed from the
coolers via ductwork to air
grille diffusers to provide
temperature relief. By
introducing a steady flow of
fresh, cooled air, the coolers
have accelerated the level of
hot air extracted from the
building.
They are group-controlled
in each area by the Breezair
Industrial Wall Control,
which enables the system to
be controlled at the touch of
a button. |
