Research into laptop use August 1st 2007 Research into laptop use by students has revealed that many are not aware of the risks to their health by using them inappropriately. The research by Rachel Benedyk and her team at University College London discovered that 57% of respondents had experienced aches and pains as a result of laptop use. Most were unaware of ergonomic guidance on using laptops. Benedyk presented her findings at the Ergonomics Society conference in April. She was so concerned about the findings that she has produced a pamphlet offering advice. It can be found on the websites of both the UCL and the Ergonomics Society.
