Safety role for doors
February 1st 2007

By its very nature, the pharmaceutical industry has to be ultra-careful with all issues of health and safety, and Perrigo's recent installation of sara doors has reaped immediate and multiple benefits.

The modern facility near Barnstaple is now equipped with 16 sara Sprint 355 doors at key locations through the plant.

The doors are set in pairs and airlocked 3000mm apart. A clear safety curtain with non-contact safety beam, allows people to see movement on either side.

Emergency access in the event of power failure is provided by two Bowden levers for each door.

Thorough sealing is crucial and, in this context, sara Sprint doors provide an air flow barrier to create both pressure controlled airlocks and to give contamination protection in critical areas.

The ergonomic design allows for easy cleaning.
