DDA-FRIENDLY SECURITY SYSTEM April 1st 2005 A DDA-friendly security system for unlocking and opening doors has been introduced by DOM UK.
The Butler is believed to be the only door-operating device that is fully compliant with every requirement of the Disability Discrimination Act. The company says it provides the means whereby any person, regardless of their disability, can open, close, lock and unlock a door without touching.
The system is also suitable for anyone carrying or pushing goods in factories, hospitals and so on.
Butler uses an individually programmed transponder, handheld or in a pocket, to recognise the door from up to 10m.
An impulse is sent to the reading unit to activate the door.
Four stages of locking and unlocking can be selected according to personal needs. |
