Reduced VOCs from coatings February 1st 2007 Granwax Products has shown its commitment to safeguarding the health and safety of its customers and the environment by reducing VOC levels. In January, an EU Directive came into force to protect the environment, under which all emissions from water-borne coatings must be below 140g/L. At less than 90g/L, the entire Granwax water-borne range comes well below that target. The company's products have been re-formulated using raw materials that are based on renewable resources, such as vegetable, linseed and castor oils. Improvements to the Classical, Masterfinish, Granfinish and Aquathane ranges have produced finishes that are nonhazardous with extremely low odour, low emissions and improved levelling capabilities, while remaining easy to apply and durable. Safety and environment remain the key considerations for Granwax. During 2007, the company will add to its portfolio of low VOC finishes and seals, giving specifiers and contractors a wider selection of safe alternatives to solventbased products. |
