Odour control
December 1st 2005

When a waste plant wanted to be confident that it was complying with IPPC, Haden Drysys Environmental came up with a holistic approach.

It identified the odours produced at the plant and their source and then determined a suitable technique to contain and treat the odour.

Haden demonstrated to the regulatory body that the technology was achieving the odour control required by measuring olfactory units emitted from the stack rather than relying on a subjective test at the boundary.

Haden installed a carbon adsorption system and demonstrated to the regulator with smoke tests that the odour from various odour streams was being captured effectively. The regulator now measures odour from the stack of Haden's odour control system to determine that the waste plant's consent limit is being achieved.
