KILLS THE GERMS THAT MAKE US ILL April 1st 2004 Following a study that confirmed that ultraviolet light kills the germs in office ventilation systems, Hanovia has received many enquiries about its UV disinfection systems.
Researchers from the McGill University in Montreal installed UV systems in the ventilation systems of three modern, sealed office buildings.
After a year of trials, they noticed a significant reduction in work-related illness, such as headaches, throat irritations and respiratory problems known collectively as Sick Building Syndrome.
Compact and easy to install within ductwork, Hanovia UV systems are designed for continuous use and can treat air flows of up to 2m3/sec. They expose all air passing through the system to UV at wavelengths that kill any airborne micro-organism present.
Silent in operation, they use no chemicals and are virtually maintenance-free other than replacing the UV-emitting arc-tube twice a year. More articles from Hanovia Limited: |
