More than 50 sets of brightly coloured Biopact Workfit hearing protectors have been supplied by Advanced Communication Solutions to BAA ground crew at Gatwick Airport.

Workfit incorporate filters, that attenuate noise to comply with current legislation, while allowing the user to hear at safe levels.

Conversation, warning alarms and telephones can be heard, but unsafe levels of noise, such as aircraft engines and heavy machinery, are filtered.

Custom made, the protectors are comfortable to wear, provide guaranteed continual protection and their bright colouring makes it easy for management to see that they are being worn.

The system is said to be more hygienic and cost effective than alternatives over the life of the product.

The earplugs can incorporate a range of filters to produce varying attenuation characteristics.
