REACH regs welcomed
October 1st 2007

Marigold Industrial believes the REACH Regulations (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restrictions of Chemicals) will be a positive move forward for hand protection.

The Regulations which came into force in June, mean manufacturers, importers, distributors and users who market or use chemicals have to register them with the European Chemicals Agency.

Donald Gillespie, Marigold Industrial's international marketing manager, says "One of the biggest challenges that end users face where chemical hand protection is concerned is understanding which glove materials and what type of gloves will provide the right levels of protection for workers coming into contact with chemicals.

"Clearly we will not know for several years how effective the REACH Regulations will be but we must welcome any initiative that aims to increase awareness of the hazards presented by anyone coming into contact with chemicals in the workplace." A 68-page product guide is available from Marigold.
