Change in standards
August 1st 2008 SATRA Technology Centre
is advising that materials
suppliers, garment
manufacturers, suppliers and
users of industrial heat and
flame protective clothing
need to be aware of changes
to standards used for CE
marking of new products.
European Standard EN ISO
11611 for welders garments
has already replaced EN 470-
1. EN ISO 11612 (clothing
for protection against heat
and flame) and EN ISO
14116 (limited flame spread
tests and requirements for
heat and flame clothing) will
replace EN 531 and EN 533
