Footwear tested to new ISO standard August 1st 2007 Goliath Footwear has retested its safety footwear range to the new European ISO standard for safety and occupational footwear. This action, though not essential, has been carried out to give a positive message to specifiers and wearers, of the company's commitment to quality. The European Safety Footwear standard EN ISO 20345 and Occupational Footwear standard EN ISO 20347 replaces EN345: 1992 and EN347: 1992, and takes into account a new conformity test. Goliath Footwear has tested many of its existing safety footwear ranges and is developing new safety footwear styles, including high ventilation trainers and stylish additions to the nonmetal range, Uniqlites, which will all feature the new European standard. Paul Bowkett, sales and marketing manager, explains "The new European standard offers that extra reassurance to specifiers looking to reduce injuries in the workplace. Manufacturers do not have to complete the revised test on products already certified to EN345, however, we have made this step to re-test and confirm to our customers that Goliath products meet the highest standards."
