April 1st 2005 The MiniSafe Flexible MSF4700 family of safety light curtains from Scientific Technologies is suitable for use in harsh, high vibration industrial environments.
Its multi-segmented design protects up to four different openings by simply connecting to four 35 by 50mm housings.
Any combinations of protected heights – from 150 to 1800mm at resolutions of 14, 20 and 30mm – is possible. The ability to mix and match heights and resolutuions allows a custom fit to a specific machine to be achieved quickly and easily For example, a 14mm finger detection segment for the vertical plane can be paired with a second 30mm detection segment in the horizontal plane to sense the presence of someone standing in a hazardous area. The company says this combination was only previously possible using multiple machine safeguards.
