Economical access safety
June 1st 2006

Available from Sick (UK) the M4000 integrated laser alignment tool and muting lamp/status indicator is designed to provide safe, cost effective access solutions.

This award-winning modular and expandable range offers a variety of beam numbers, separations and ranges in combination with Type-4 safety in compliance with IEC 61496 and SIL 3 according to IEC 61508.

The M4000 Advanced version includes such features as beam coding, restart interlock, external device monitoring, and Safety Data Link interface for safe network or fieldbus integration.

Together with the company's UE403 muting switching device, the twoto four-beam system provides decentralised muting solutions for access protection during automated material transport.

The UE403 can be mounted directly on to the non-distorting profile of the M4000 Advanced. The LED muting indicator lamp is integrated in the receiver housing. These features in combination create a decentralised muting solution with an enclosure rating of IP65 and with reduced wiring costs.
