Bellow for protection
June 1st 2005

Health and safety legislation requires lead screws on conventional lathes to be covered to prevent accidents. The onus is on employers to carry out risk assessments in machine shops and tool rooms to take account of this and so avoid both accidents and costly insurance claims.

Beakbane offers a simple, inexpensive bellow that covers and protects the lead screw and shaft of any conventional lathe.

It prevents loose clothing from becoming trapped in the screw, protects shafts from swarf and can be custom-made to suit any lathe. The long life device simply hooks onto the lead screw.
