VIBRATION IS FOCUS OF NEW CAMPAIGN
October 1st 2004

Makita has launched an awareness campaign to help reduce HAV among operators and employees.

The company says that a comparison chart of three of the major brands of heavy duty rotary, hammer and demolition drills illustrates that 89% of Makita’s professional range has equal or lower vibration ratings compared to similar category machines from other brands.

Equally, 89% of Makita tools are said to have equal or higher impact power joules than one of the other brands.

Posters are available to Makita distributors and hire outlets showing these comparisons and highlighting the company’s low vibration rotary hammer, demolition hammer and combi-hammer.

Makita’s BE-SAFE safety education programme also has a practical protection guide reducing the risk of HAV injury. It recommends careful selection of the right tool for the task, the provision of personal protection with gloves, high quality bits and limited physical effort.
