Minimum vibration
June 1st 2004

A new 9in angle grinder from Bosch Power Tools helps ensure that vibration levels are kept to a minimum while working levels are at maximum.

The device features vibration control on the main handle as well as on the side. Made from an elastic material, the vibration control is connected with a fastening ring to the motor housing and with an adapter ring to the handle. This acts as a dampening unit, meaning that the motor housing is disconnected from the handle and prevents vibration being transmitted to the user.

In 2005 a new EU directive will regulate the amount of vibration to which a worker can be exposed. Bosch has designed its angle grinder to meet the new regulations.

Other features include: soft start; SDS quick change nut; double-sealed ball bearings with easy change; quick adjust guard; motor protection from dust; and improved gear wheels.
