Measures vibration
December 1st 2004

Following concern that manufacturers laboratory vibration tests cannot imitate real life conditions, Hilti (GB) has invested in a Larson Davis HVM100 vibration meter to help with its on-site vibration assessments.

Using the triaxial vibration meter from ProsCon Environmental, all three axes are measured simultaneously and readings of RMS, Min, Max and peak are gathered for X, Y and Z axes as well as a vector sum of all three.

The device carries out an exposure time calculation based on current requirements, stores 100 files automatically and can be downloaded to a printer or computer with the supplied cable.

As well as developing new ranges of low vibration tools, Hilti now offers a tailor-made solution for customers that solves the productivity challenge, and helps employers to put in place a programme of risk assessment control measures, surveillance and training.
