February 1st 2007 Available from Mobile Safety Solutions is a system that enables users to control proactively the hazards and dangers involved in day-to-day risk management of industrial tasks – on and off site. Mobile Safety is a Windows Mobile and PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) application for use by health and safety professionals in a number of industries. It is a 'hosted' Internet service that runs from a PC or Apple Mac and works in conjunction with a handheld PDA that has a built-in mobile phone. Health and safety professionals can set up questionnaires, such as work at height checks and electrical equipment safety checks, so the user can carry out safety briefings using the PDA before work begins. As records are updated on site using the PDA, it automatically synchronises the data with the PC/Mac over the airwaves using simple mobile phone technology. This is done at regular intervals for less important activities or can be set to continuously update for high risk tasks. Any problems can be reported immediately using the PDA/phone functions.
