Extended coolant life April 1st 2008 Fuchs Lubricants (UK) will
be using Mach 2008 to
showcase its latest
developments in water
soluble metalworking fluids –
the Ecocool Ultralife range.
The product was
developed in response to
HSE guidelines concerning
the control of bacterial
contamination in used
coolants. The cutting fluid
range is designed to offer
users optimum machining
performance and surface
finish, as well as providing a
high level of machine
cleanliness for an improved
work environment.
A feature of the range is
its biologically hard nature.
The company says that,
following six months of 'real
world' field tests,
documentation showed a
reduced propensity to
bacteria growth than
conventional fluids, when
operating in identical
environments.
Paul Littley, R&D spokesperson,
says "Our new
Ultralife range creates an
environment where bacteria
find it difficult to proliferate.
This in turn provides
extended coolant life,
reduces the need for tank
side additions and reduces
maintenance and monitoring
in machine shops.
"This consequently
reduces fluid consumption,
reduces waste generation
and minimises disposal
costs."
