Configure, the commercial disability access consultancy is for the first time to offer its software under licence to enable organisations to carry out their own access audits.

SMART Audit DDA access audit software operates on a handheld PDA, in conjunction with a camera attachment enabling users to undertake full access audits of all types of premises. Upon docking the PDA with a PC, the data is uploaded to Configure’s server where it is collated and processed, before being compiled into two reports: one a detailed accessibility report and the other an action plan.

The software is intuitive and easy to use and comes with a day’s training for the user.

The reports produced are manageable and useable, using a colour scheme to indicate priority.

The new software will be most useful to organisations with multiple sites. Travelodge, for example, audited all 250 of its locations across the UK, providing a unified approach and consistent results throughout
