Mobile service August 1st 2006 A call from AFI Aerial Platforms to MobileSOS last December has resulted in a new mobile phone service that is relevant to a number of industries.
The company already offered three standard services to enhance personal safety and security. All are activated by a one-touch, speed-dial call from any mobile phone registered to the MobileSOS services and all send the message and location from which the call was triggered.
Alarm messages are sent as voice and text messages and as an email that has a map showing the location of the caller. A Panic service calls up to five close contacts, while the I'm OK service sends a message, normally to two contacts, confirming that the employee has arrived safely or is on site.
Panic timer lets the user set a time interval when they think they may be at risk and, if they do not cancel it within the time set, the Panic service is triggered.
AFI's requirements led to the development of a Checkin Timer service that a user triggers to continuously confirm that they are working safely and securely.
Pressing a Speed-Dial number to reset the time interval will ensure anyone monitoring the service can see quickly whether someone is potentially in trouble and can make normal mobile telephone contact or take any other agreed action. If the continuous reset is not triggered, the Panic service is automatically triggered. |
