For those alone August 1st 2007 Aware of the increasing threat to its Benefit Investigation and Rent Collection Officers from verbal and physical abuse, the Revenue Service at Wandsworth Borough Council has adopted Identicom as part of SoloProtect, the fully managed lone worker protection service from Connexion2. The lone worker protection device is combined with a 24/7 manned monitoring service accredited to BS5979 Cat II, through a partnership with Reliance Security. SoloProtect and the NHS Security Management Service provide training and this has been delivered to thousands of lone workers both within the NHS and wider markets. When an employee feels they are entering a hazardous situation, they press an amber alert button, which notifies SoloProtect's monitoring centre. In this way, the centre is able to note the wearer's location and raise the alarm if the amber alert is not cancelled within a predetermined period. If the red alert is pressed, the centre's support staff can discreetly listen-in to what is happening and make an assessment as to the level of support required. More articles from Connexion 2 Ltd: |
