COMPLIES WITH DPA
October 1st 2004

Following the introduction of the Data Protection Act (DPA) 1998, it has been announced by the Health & Safety Executive and the Department of Work and Pensions that, as from 31 December 2003, the current Accident Book form BI510 will no longer be compliant with the law.

The DPA stipulates that all personal information entered into accident books must be kept confidential. To satisfy the changes in the law and the resultant demand for accident books, Safety First Aid has introduced its own version that is fully compliant with the DPA.

The book includes an outline of the changes to the law, useful guidance on the reporting of accidents for employers and employees, a guide to first aid requirements in the workplace, and 53 perforated accident report forms that can be removed and securely stored.

Robert Froomberg, managing director, explains The introduction of the new data protection compliant accident book with helpful guides is part of our ongoing commitment to help employers understand and comply with health and safety legislation.
