Noise assessment kits April 1st 2008 Pulsar Instruments has
introduced 'Safety
Professionals' noise
assessment kits that provide
a custom-made solution for
resolving specific noise risk
assessment issues.
The latest noise directive
requires companies to assess
the risk from noise exposure
levels for their workers and
visitors. A clear report must
be created with a prioritised
action plan of how the
company plans to eliminate
or minimise these hazards.
Finding out exact working
practices can be difficult as
often workers do not realise
what they actually do during
a typical day. Dosimetry can
be used to determine working
practices and can be used to
great effect in conjunction
with a sound level meter.
Pulsar Instruments offers
a range of sound level
meters, from simple-to-use
instruments such as those in
its Assessor range to a
Model 30 or 33 real time
analyser for more exacting
applications.
The meter can be
augmented with one of the
company's Model 22
doseBadge systems. These
allow an accurate
assessment of the daily
exposure levels of those at
risk. The company points out
that dosimetry is especially
suitable for applications
where workers are regularly
moving about.
Pulsar also offers software
packages so measurements
can be downloaded and
automated yet comprehensive
reports produced.
The company will be at
Safety & Health Expo.
