People who stand at assembly, inspection, sorting, picking and packing operations for more than 2- 3hrs a day can experience significant physical stress and fatigue as a result.

Typical symptoms are swollen or painful feet, stiffness in the joints, discomfort in the shoulders and neck, lower back pain, and tiredness.

These problems can undermine the motivation and productivity of the workforce and often lead to increased absenteeism.
