Dangerous driving April 1st 2006 Inspections of company and privately-owned cars and their drivers conducted by Total Motion showed that 14% of the vehicles were unroadworthy, 2% were untaxed and 17% were not properly maintained.
Checks on drivers revealed that 4% had invalid licences, 8% of those using private vehicles were not properly insured and 78% of all drivers admitted to not carrying out weekly checks on items such as tyres, lights, fluids and glass.
