Safety by the lorry load June 1st 2008 A Combisafe Loading
System is saving time and
money on the streets of
Edinburgh, at Exchange
Place, site of new offices for
Scottish Widows, currently
under construction by Bovis
Lend Lease.
The simple, yet effective
fall prevention system is
designed to protect the user
when securing or releasing
materials over the entire
area of a flatbed vehicle, up
to 5m above the ground.
Mobile and demountable,
the CLS is designed to be
used in pairs. It has
Alsipercha frames to provide
a rotating anchor point.
Users must be simultaneously
attached to two retractable
fall-arrest blocks and can
access the length of the
lorry bed in safety.
The system meets the
requirements of EN 795 Class
B (transportable temporary
anchors for the attachments
of PFPE). It has levelling
feet and can be used on
uneven or sloping surfaces. It
is compact and light enough
to be moved once assembled.
Jonathan Currie, site
manager for Bovis Lend
Lease, says "The CLS takes
very little space, is simple to
use and Combisafe provided
training for the use of their
equipment. The CLS has now
been included in our project
specific safety induction DVD
to promote safe unloading
on site." More articles from Combisafe International Limited: |
