Heavy Duty Lifter for Handling Reels of Wire

Working closely with its customer a leading manufacturer of Heat Exchangers for the automotive industry Packline have designed a solution for lifting and forward tipping reels of binding wire weighing up to 300kg.

The customer primary requirement was for the reels to be lifted from pallets where the reels core was in the horizontal then transported to storage.

His secondary requirement was to remove the reels from storage rotate thro 90 degrees so the reels core was now in the horizontal ready to loaded to the production machines mandrel.

A special purpose forward tipping clamp attachment was developed to fit the company’s range of Heavy Duty Lifters.

The Clamp attachment was designed with a streamlined profile to allow the reels access to the tight storage area.

The Clamping action was torque controlled to ensure the correct gripping power was applied prior to lift. Once clamped the reel could be forward rotated by releasing the clamp arm location pin
