Moves doors with ease
February 1st 2006 Door lifting equipment from SCM Materials Handling has been installed at the premises of a UK manufacturer of UPVC doors.
The versatile equipment, a large overhead crane system and vacuum lifter, gives the operator flexibility over a large floor space, and easy movement of heavy, awkward-to-lift doors.
One person is now able to move the doors without help from anyone else.
Previously, the task took two or three people.
The vacuum lifter operates using six vacuum pads which, when placed on the door, seal against the service, enabling the operator to lift 80kg doors singlehanded.
The free and easy movement on the crane system means the operator can effortlessly move the doors 12m down the factory or 5m across it.
