Added safety for trucks
August 1st 2007

Toyota Industrial Equipment (UK) has a new range of engine-powered forklifts. Available in seven models, with load capacities from 1.5 to 3.5t, and with a choice of diesel or gas engines, the Toyota Tonero features a wide range of safety features.

These include enhanced visibility for drivers when forks are at ground level, at lorry bed height and at maximum height, due to a new overhead guard and mast design and lowered dashboard.

The Tonero has Toyota's System of Active Stability, which helps protect both driver and load. Operator Presence Sensing allows truck operation only if the driver is seated. Drivers have easy access to the truck via a low step and large assist grip.

Customers can specify additional features in the areas of safety, productivity, durability and comfort.

With Tonero+ Safety, customers handling loads at height are said to enjoy even greater levels of safety with a load weight indicator, maximum drive speed setting and features that limit the maximum drive speed and acceleration rate when moving elevated loads.
