Higher, safer bag stacks
August 1st 2006

Plant breeder and seed production specialist CPB Twyford has trialled a new bulk bag lifter that addresses operational and health and safety issues.

Looplifter is a sprung positioning device sewn directly into any size of big bag during manufacture. The system allows big bags to be picked up by one operative on a forklift without any manual intervention or need for a second operator to position the bag.

When stored on top of each other, the sprung device flattens to provide a solid base on which other bags can be stacked to ensure a stable tower, that can be accessed easily by a single forklift operator without any manual assistance. This stability is said to allow a higher safe stacking height than conventional bulk bags, allowing effective use of space.
