Compact emergency locking retractor

Securon, a British manufacturer of seat belts and safety restraints, has introduced a compact retractor.

For use in harsh working environments, the emergency locking retractor (ELR) is specifically encased with a two-piece cover that is mechanically fixed in four places. Additionally, in the stowed position, the tongue closes the retractor cover to prevent ingress of foreign matter.

The ELR joins the company's twin-release buckle with single piece body and mechanically fixed cap. The company says the problem of broken buckle casings does not occur with the Securon product.
