Barriers reduce damage
October 1st 2006

Distributor of fresh produce, chilled and ambient goods, Reynolds Catering Supplies, has installed safety barriers from David Evans Associates and dramatically reduced damage to racking and other equipment at its National Distribution Centre in Waltham Cross.

Looking for a solution to high levels of damage to pallet racking and chilled store wall panels, the company was advised to talk to David Evans Associates.

Paul Collins, general manager, says "As a result, we installed some innovative safety barriers to protect the pallet racking uprights, the rack ends and 300m of the chilled store walling." Coloured yellow for high visibility and certified to BS 6399, the new safety barriers are made from plastics which are said to have exceptionally high impact absorption and deflection properties."
