PROTECTION FROM CONTAMINATED AIR
June 1st 2004

Semmco has added to its range of Head emergency breathing apparatus a positive pressure, air-powered, demand respirator.

The SE400 is believed to be the worlds first fan-supplied respirator to have achieved the protection factors of a self-contained breathing apparatus and is primarily aimed at people who work in contaminated environments containing chemical or biological warfare agents, toxic gases or ultra fine dry particulates such as asbestos fibres.

Features include a microphone within the face piece that is connected to an external loudspeaker, to give clear communication. The tight fitting face head and face seal ensure no inward leakage of contaminated air and the unit offers an operation time of about 10h.

A disposable SE-Shield pressurised suit has been designed to integrate with the SE400AT-2 respirator.
