Cool and comfortable
August 1st 2006

An exhalation valve at the base of 3M's 6000 Series full face respirators channels exhaled air downwards and out, providing both comfort and efficiency.

Vikki Nash, 3M Occupational Health and Environmental Safety product manager, says "On most full face respirators, exhaled air escapes through an open grill on the front of the respirator. During use, moisture and heat can build up and this can lead to discomfort.

"The exhalation valve at the bottom of the respirator channels exhaled air downwards, away from the face, improving breathing, enabling easy speech transmission and making the respirator cooler and more comfortable."
