Explosion-proof sensor October 1st 2008 Available from Draeger, the
explosion-proof Sensor IR is
designed to make the
upgrading to infrared
technology easier and cost
effective.
Designed to detect
flammable gases and
vapours, the ATEX-approved
sensor has been developed
to allow existing pellistors
or catalytic bead sensors to
be replaced easily. The
inclusion of Wheatstone
bridge emulation, which
duplicates a standard
pellistor output, means
cables and control devices,
from most manufacturers,
can still be used.
Even in harsh conditions,
these new poison immune,
fail-safe sensors are simple
to install; simply unscrew a
traditional pellistor and screw
in the Draeger Sensor IR.
Requiring no adaptation
to either the control system
or the electrical field wiring,
the Draeger Sensor IR has 3-
wire connection which
eliminates the need for extra
cabling. In addition,
because of the availability of
metric M25 as well as 3/4
NPT thread with the new
sensor, it can be used with
most junction boxes.
The sensor has an
expected lifespan of more
than 15 years. Measuring 0
to 100%LEL for methane,
propane and ethylene
(further substances on
request), it has a typical
response time of <30sec,
with IP65 and IP67
protection, splash guard and
calibration adapter More articles from Draeger Safety UK Limited: |
