Filter media upgraded June 1st 2006 Jasun Filtration has improved the properties of its G4 and F5 grade pleated panel filters by producing them with Kimberly-Clark's upgraded Intrepid filtration media which does not support the growth of bacteria or mould.
Fungi emit numerous metabolically produced volatile organic compounds, many of which can potentially lead to adverse health effects, such as allergic reactions, asthma and other immunologic/ respiratory diseases.
Studies have shown that available moisture is a critical environmental factor that influences microbial growth in HVAC systems.
Chemical binders used in certain filter media are suspected of being a nutrient source for bacteria, moulds and other microorganisms. As the Intrepid media is made from synthetic hydrophobic fibres that do not absorb moisture, the material does not support the growth of mould or bacteria.
The media captures airborne allergens as small as 0.3 microns, including smoke, dust mite faeces and pollen. Jasun believes it to be up to 30 times more efficient than fibreglass filters. More articles from Jasun Filtration Plc: |
