Spreading the word on dust dangers June 1st 2007 Speedy Hire is launching its
biggest ever health and
safety campaign to educate
site operatives about the
dangers of inhaling workrelated
dust and help
construction companies
tackle the issue.
The Let's clear the air on
dust control campaign aims
to reduce the number of site
operatives that contract
respiratory diseases by
highlighting the causes of
dust and the preventative
measures now available.
Asbestos, wood and silica
dust have been identified as
the 'big three' particulates
to focus on by the HSE as
they threaten the health of
site operatives. However,
particles from diesel,
welding mould spores, lead,
solvents, sprays from 2-pack
paints and other chemicals
can also cause ill health in
the form of asthma, chronic
obstructive pulmonary
disease, dermatitis and
rhinitis.
Speedy's staff will tour
clients' construction sites,
presenting tool box talks
and supplying information
to get the message across. More articles from Speedy Hire Plc: |
