Aids dust collection
February 1st 2006

Modular filter housings have been introduced by Donaldson to improve dust collection.

Sheet metal housings have been replaced with a modular version to deliver efficient flow and pre-separation. The aim was to design a flow optimised housing for air volumes to 120 000m3/h.

In the Modular Baghouse unit, heavier dust particles drop into the collector/ hopper before they reach the filter. Dust-laden air is evenly distributed across the filters.

This efficient mechanical preseparation increases the filter life and the dust collector installation can take up larger dust quantities.

Modular Baghouse units can be used with any conventional filter media.

However the company says best results are achieved by using the Dura-Life filter media generation. This also enables customers to select a smaller housing size.
