Essential knowledge on asbestos
June 1st 2008 JPD, part of NICEIC Group, is
offering a one-day course
providing essential knowledge
for those who may come into
contact with asbestos.
The course covers
asbestos law, the sources of
asbestos and types and
properties of the material. It
also covers use of asbestos in
buildings, why it is
dangerous, respiratory system
defence and the related
diseases caused by exposure
to it.
Duties and responsibilities
are examined, as are the
types of survey available,
management plans and what
to do if there is an
accidental disturbance of
asbestos. Work not requiring
a license is also covered.
Course handouts are
supplied by the HSE and all
delegates receive a certificate
verifying attendance on
