Accessibility
We've gone to a lot of trouble to create a site where the content and layout are cleanly
seperated, this means we can provide you with alternate versions of our site suitable for
a variety of purposes.
We are currently working on a feature allowing you to alter the general type face used
to render text, this will allow you to setup some preferences in your profile that are
remembered when you return to the site.
We are also looking into a text-only version of the site as well as data streams
which can be fed direct to XML-Aware applications, we are making use of the latest and
greatest specifications and will be supporting RSS to start with.
If you have any questions about accessibility then please drop us an email and let us know
how we can help you, just use the 'General Enquiries' link at the top of the page.
Update - 5th March 2005
Our registered members can now make use of the following new features:
Font Size Switcher - Readers can now adjust the size of the screen font on our site to suit their needs, this is still experimental and may not work in all browsers
Update - 23rd February 2005
Our registered members will soon have access to the following features:
RSS Feed - We have built a Really Simple Syndication news feed which will randomly throw you stories from the past 2 months, this is currently in testing and will be available in late March
Update - 13th December 2004
We've implemented a couple of subtle new features on the site:
Title Bar - we have now completed the mechanism for giving each page on the site a title, this will appear in your browsers title bar
Alt Tags - almost all images now have both alt text attributes and titles allowing users with non-image enabled browsers, or speech browsers to better access our editorial content
URLs - we appreciate that the addresses you currently see in the Address bar of your browser are not user-friendly, please be aware that we are working on a new URL naming scheme which should be implemented in the new year
